A TimesTalks Conversation
Edie Falco, Emmy Award–winning star of the critically acclaimed Showtime series “Nurse Jackie,” and three–time Emmy winner for her portrayal of Carmela Soprano on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” talks about the show – now in its 7th and final season – and her role as a flawed New York City ER nurse. Since its 2009 premiere, the series has won multiple awards, including several Emmys, a Humanitas Prize, an AFI Award for Outstanding Television Program and several Prism Awards for its depiction of substance abuse. Its star became the only actress ever to win the lead acting Emmy in both comedy and drama, and the most nominated television performer in Screen Actors Guild Awards history. Interviewed by New York Times Television Editor Gilbert Cruz.
